A little while back,we received an email asking for our views on the use of Kevlar-knuckled gloves by door security staff. We think it raised some interesting and timely issues for security personnel, and we’d like to share the discussion. With a bit of paraphrasing, here’s the email, and the detailed response from our own Sandra Williams. IBA UK at the Minety Music Festival, 29th June to 1st July
IBA UK is delighted to be providing security services for the Minety Music Festival. The three-day not-for-profit event is organised entirely by volunteers. This year, the funds raised will support Wiltshire Air Ambulance, Combat Stress and Naomi House & Jacksplace Hospice. Funds will also secure future charity fundraising events. The event will take place in the village of Minety, nestling in the Cotswolds between Swindon and Malmesbury from Friday 29th June to Sunday 1st July. Keeping safe and secure in Malta
Two UK based consultants are delighted to be back in Malta again providing protective security advice and training with Signal 8’s Training Academy. Continuing the good work already being done at The Point shopping mall, to ensure delivery of an excellent customer experience, The Training Academy is working with the newly formed Emergency Response Wardens to develop their skills and to enhance staff and customer safety. IBA UK all set to deliver WRAP3 training
This week, IBA UK personnel received their Home Office registration numbers for delivering WRAP3 (Working to Raise Awareness of Prevent) training. Duncan White and Sandra Williams are now able to deliver this vital training to schools, the NHS and other affected organisations. WRAP3 training is a key part of the Government’s Prevent strategy. The Prevent duty places an obligation upon schools and other childcare providers to identify children who may be vulnerable to radicalisation, and know what to do when they are identified. It also aims to create resilience in young people to radicalisation, by promoting fundamental British values and enabling them to challenge extremist views.
