Course Summary
The Fire Safety in the Workplace Short Course can be used as a stand-alone module or included in an induction programme. It is designed to help you and your business understand the risks of fire and the steps that can be taken to mitigate the risk of fire. It will provide the knowledge required to prevent fire and protect people from harm.
The course covers everything from the very basics of how fire starts and spreads, through to risk assessments and managing risk. it also outlines the legal obligations of different people in the workplace and their roles and responsibilities relating to fire safety.
Who should take this course?
This course is suitable for any employee or manager who needs to understand fire safety, their roles and responsibilities and the risks associated with fire. It may be particulaly useful as part of an induction programme.
How long does the course take?
Most trainees will complete the course in 20 – 40 minutes.
How is the course assessed and accredited?
The course provides the teaching and materials necessary for CPD and training purposes. Multiple-choice questions are provided so that learners can test their knowledge and understanding. However, please note that this is not the same as accreditation.
If a learner wishes to accredit this learning, he/she will need to take an examination with the appropriate board and be supervised remotely. These services are available from IBA UK at a reasonable rate – please contact us for details.

No prior knowledge is needed.
