IBA UK has always prided itself on being an inclusive and forward-looking organisation.

As part of our ongoing commitment to that ethos, we’re proud to announce that we are now a member of the Disability Confident scheme.

Disability Confident provides employers with the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to attract, recruit, retain and develop disabled people in the workplace. Membership to the scheme gains access to guidance and advice to help recruit and retain from the widest possible pool of talent.

And with 7.6 million working age people in the UK with disabilities or health conditions – that’s a huge pool!

What does our Disability Confident membership mean in practice?

As you can see on our certificate above, our membership means that we’re committed to a number of practices. These are:

  • ensuring our recruitment process is inclusive and accessible
  • communicating and promoting vacancies offering an interview to disabled people who meet the minimum criteria for the job
  • anticipating and providing reasonable adjustments as required supporting any existing employee who acquires a disability or long term health condition, enabling them to stay in work
  • providing at least one activity that will make a difference for disabled people.
