Highfield Level 2 Award for Working as a Security Officer within the Private Security (RQF)
Under the Private Security Industry Act 2001, all security officers must hold a licence to practice, issued by the Security Industry Authority (SIA). To work as a security officer you need to apply for a SIA licence. You cannot get your SIA licence without first attending this training course and gaining the Security Officer qualification. Once you have your licence you can start earning and have an exciting career in the security industry.

Duration
Courses are delivered over four days, running from 8:30 – 5:30, plus distance learning module.
The course is run over two consecutive weekends.
How will I be assessed?
Multiple-choice question exams which are externally marked by the awarding body.
Entry Requirements from 1st April 2020
You must hold a Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work certificate (or above) which has at least 12 months to expire prior to starting this course. Evidence will be required upon enrolment of your current first aid certificate.
We offer evening classes for one night a month, 6pm to 10pm. Or you can attend one of our day courses which we run every month to get this qualification before you attend your course.
All learners must demonstrate a good grasp of the English language. This may involve completing a short assessment prior to enrolment. Minimum age of 18.
Photo and ID Requirements
You will need to bring ID with you to be able to sit the exams. If you have a current Passport and a photo driving licence these will be ideal.
