Defensive Driving: EDI Level 2 Certificate
This level 2 qualification in Defensive Driving is designed for anyone who wishes to improve their driving skills.
This course is run on request and the location is to suit the company/business requirements.
This qualification provides underpinning knowledge and skills that
will be an enhancement if you are interested in professional
driving roles such as taxi drivers, bodyguards, chauffeurs, mini-bus
drivers, security escort drivers HGV and PCV drivers.
The qualification addresses many initiatives aimed at reducing
traffic incidents including
“Driving at Work – Managing Work-Related Road Safety”, a joint
venture with the Department of Transport, HSE and the
“Think! Road Safety” campaign.
Successful achievement should entitle you to a reduction in
your insurance premium through insurers connected to the scheme.
Attendees have reported reductions of up to 30%!
This course will help you to:
- Understand what defensive driving is and why it is important
- Develop skills and attitudes for defensive driving
- Use these skills to improve vehicle performance and safety
- Be more aware of the driving ‘environment’ and how best to negotiate it
- Understand and improve attitudes and behaviour towards driving
- Car searches and understanding how Approach is really important.
Assessment
- A workbook including Highway Code test which is internally set and assessed
- Commentary drive
EDI moderated
- An on line hazard perception test which is internally assessed
- A practical driving assessment which is internally assessed by EDI validated materials
Requirements
- Learners must be in possession of a full driving license.
| Enhanced version of this course, are also available with an assessment of convoy driving and a driving assessment using a B6 Armoured Car (Range Rover) driving on the roads in the UK. |
